Currently the FCCM has eight committees, dedicated to tasks related to organizing the market. These are:
The Finance Committee:
This committee is responsible for developing sources of funding, including bank loans, grants, and a member loan program. (Hans Geier, chair)
The Operations Committee:
This committee will oversee operation of the business on a day-to-day basis. (Mary Christensen)
The Communication/Outreach Committee:
This committee deals with fundraising, annual meeting planning and member relations, etc. (Mary Christensen, chair; Cora Kelley, Helen McLean, Jackie Sunnyboy, and Nicole Pearce).
The Local Producers/Vendor Selection Committee:
This group reaches out to possible suppliers and will write up agreements for supplying the market with locally produced food and other items. Recent work includes a presentation at the Delta Farm Forum. (Jerry Wacker, chair; Hans Geier)
The Product Selection Committee:
This committee is in charge of determining criteria for product selection, with the first priority being local, supplemented by imported sources. The committee also determines what products not to carry. (Leila Ryterski, chair)
The Health and Wellness Education Committee:
This is a member education committee, dedicated to furthering the wellbeing of the membership. (no chair as yet)
The Store Design Committee:
This committee is working on the layout and design of the future storefront. The estimates on costs of the design and construction will be vital for the business plan. (Rob Leach, chair; Garrison Collette, Gary Currington, Jeremiaih Miller)
The Business Plan Committee:
This committee refines the business and marketing plan for the co-op. Dave Lacey was responsible for the original plan. (Robert Sullivan)
